What is a Felted-Wool Handbag?

Felted wool handbags are hand knit into HUGE handbags and then "felted" into much smaller handbags. Felting is a process that ends in the bag being "shrunk" down in size, and the wool fibers "condensed" making them tight and strong for long lasting wear and durability.
In the all natural-felting process, (no chemicals have been used in this process)the wool fibers lock together to form a thick fabric. Each felted bag comes out unique - part of the process is letting the wool do what it wants, and form its shape all on its own! Truly one-of-a-kind pieces!
Our felted handbags are not lined, because they don't need to be!

Benefits of having a wool handbag: Due to the wool, these bags are naturally water resistant. Wool is a sturdy, durable material that will last a very very long time. Great bags for the fall & winter season!
Wool material costs more than cotton or synthetic yarn, (and and although we try our best to keep our prices reasonable) because of the felting process, we often use 3 times the amount that would be used in a regular knit handbag...therefore felted bags tend to cost more to make. However, these handbags are going to go the distance and will stand the test of time...they are worth every penny! But dont take our word for it, try for yourself!

To care for your felted purse, we recommend spot cleaning or dry clean only. NEVER wash your felted bag in the washer or put it in the dryer.
